PRIVACY POLICY

What stays local stays private.

MediaLatch is built around local processing. The desktop app does not require an account for its core download workflow, and we do not receive the media files you save.

Who is responsible

DLC 39 DEGREE LTD, company number 16561982, is the controller for personal information covered by this policy. You can contact us at medialatch@gmail.com.

Information we process

• Desktop app. Media URLs, titles, formats, filenames, destination folders, and downloaded files are processed locally on your Mac. The current public beta does not send those items to MediaLatch analytics.
• Website delivery. Our host, Cloudflare, may process IP addresses, request details, security signals, and operational logs to deliver and protect this website.
• Language preference. The website stores only your English or Chinese preference in local browser storage. We do not currently use advertising or analytics cookies.
• Support and review. If you email us, we receive the address, message, attachments, and diagnostic details you choose to provide. Do not send media files, passwords, cookies, or private source URLs unless we specifically request a safe test case.
• Payments. Paid checkout is not active. At paid launch, the checkout-identified Merchant of Record will process payment, tax, fraud, and order information under its own privacy notice. MediaLatch will receive only the order and licence information needed to fulfil and support the purchase.

Why and how long

We process limited website data for security and reliable delivery, support messages to answer your request, and order information to perform a future licence contract. Routine support records may be kept for up to 24 months; legal, accounting, fraud, or security records may be retained longer where required. Local app data remains under your control.

Sharing and transfers

We do not sell personal information. We use service providers only where needed to host the website, deliver email, support software distribution, and—after approval—process orders. Those providers may process data in other countries using safeguards available under applicable data-protection law.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection. Email us to make a request. UK users may also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. This product is not directed to children under 16.

用途与保留期限

我们为网站安全与稳定交付处理有限的访问数据，为答复请求处理支持邮件，并在未来为履行许可合同处理订单信息。一般支持记录最多保留 24 个月；法律、会计、反欺诈或安全记录在有要求时可能保留更久。本地应用数据始终由你控制。

共享与跨境传输

我们不会出售个人信息。仅在托管网站、提供邮件、分发软件，以及获批后处理订单所必需时使用服务商。服务商可能依据适用数据保护法律提供的保障措施在其他国家处理数据。

你的权利

TERMS & SOFTWARE LICENCE

A tool, not permission.

These terms govern the MediaLatch website and macOS software supplied by DLC 39 DEGREE LTD. By installing or using the software, you agree to them.

The licence

The public beta is provided free of charge as a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence. A paid licence will be governed by the offer shown at checkout and the order confirmation. A one-time licence means you may keep using the version you purchased; it does not promise every future major version or optional cloud service.

Permitted use

You may use MediaLatch to save and process media that you own, created, placed in the public domain, licensed for that use, or otherwise have clear authorization to download. You remain responsible for copyright, source-platform terms, privacy, publicity, and any restrictions on reuse or distribution.

Restrictions

You must not use MediaLatch to infringe rights, obtain unauthorized content, bypass DRM, authentication, paywalls, geographic restrictions, or other access controls, distribute malware, overload a service, or break applicable law. You must not resell, sublicense, or represent the software as your own product.

Third-party services and components

MediaLatch is independent and is not endorsed by media platforms. Source sites may change or stop working at any time. The app uses open-source components including yt-dlp and FFmpeg; their respective licences and notices continue to apply.

Beta, updates, and availability

Beta software may contain errors. Back up important files and verify output before deleting a source. We may update, limit, suspend, or withdraw a beta or feature to maintain security, legality, or service quality. We do not guarantee that every site, link, format, or quality will work.

Termination

The licence ends if you materially breach these terms. On termination, stop using and delete the software. Provisions concerning ownership, liability, disputes, and accrued rights survive.

Responsibility and liability

The software is supplied with reasonable care, but to the fullest extent permitted by law we are not liable for platform changes, unauthorized user activity, loss caused by ignoring warnings, or indirect business losses. Nothing excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or your mandatory consumer rights.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you retain any mandatory protections and forum rights provided by the law where you live.

第三方服务与组件

MediaLatch 是独立工具，未获得媒体平台背书。来源网站可能随时变化或停止兼容。应用使用包括 yt-dlp 和 FFmpeg 在内的开源组件，其各自许可与声明继续适用。

测试版、更新与可用性

测试版可能存在错误。请备份重要文件，并在删除源文件前核验输出。为维护安全、合法性或服务质量，我们可能更新、限制、暂停或撤回测试版或功能。我们不保证每个网站、链接、格式或画质都能正常工作。

终止

如你严重违反本条款，许可将终止。终止后请停止使用并删除软件。有关所有权、责任、争议和已产生权利的条款继续有效。

责任

我们会以合理谨慎提供软件，但在法律允许的最大范围内，不对平台变化、用户未经授权的行为、无视警告造成的损失或间接商业损失负责。本条款不排除依法不得排除的责任，包括欺诈、因疏忽造成的死亡或人身伤害，以及你的强制性消费者权利。

适用法律

本条款受英格兰和威尔士法律管辖。如果你是消费者，你仍保留居住地法律提供的强制性保护与法院管辖权。

You may

• Save your own uploads, productions, recordings, and client media where you have permission.
• Use public-domain or openly licensed material within the licence conditions.
• Create lawful personal backups or offline copies where the source terms and applicable law allow it.

You may not

• Download, copy, publish, sell, or redistribute media without the required rights.
• Use credentials, cookies, or another person’s account to gain unauthorized access.
• Circumvent DRM, encryption, paywalls, authentication, geographic restrictions, rate limits, or other access controls.
• Use MediaLatch for harassment, privacy abuse, exploitation, malware, automated service abuse, or any unlawful purpose.

Copyright reports

MediaLatch does not host downloaded media, so we cannot remove a file held by a source platform or on a user’s Mac. If you believe our website, release channel, or customer-facing material infringes your rights, email medialatch@gmail.com with your identity, the protected work, the exact MediaLatch URL or material, the basis of your claim, and a reliable way to contact you. We will review credible notices and may remove our own material or restrict a licence where appropriate.

REFUND POLICY

No hidden checkout. No blanket “no refunds.”

The current public beta is free and no paid checkout is active. This section describes the policy we intend to apply when Founding Pro is approved for sale.

Who processes a future order

The checkout and order confirmation will identify the Merchant of Record that sells the licence, collects tax, and processes payment. Its checkout terms and refund workflow will apply alongside this policy and your statutory rights.

Change of mind

For eligible digital purchases, you may request cancellation within 14 days after the contract is made. If you ask for the software download or licence delivery to begin during that period, the checkout may ask for your express consent and acknowledgement that your cancellation right will be lost once digital delivery begins. We will never use this to remove rights that cannot lawfully be waived.

Faulty or misdescribed software

Your statutory remedies remain available if the paid software is faulty, not as described, or not supplied with reasonable care. We may first offer troubleshooting, an update, repair, or replacement where the law allows and that solution is reasonable. An eligible refund will be returned through the original payment method without undue delay.

How to ask

Email medialatch@gmail.com with the order number, purchase email, macOS version, and a short description of the request. Do not send payment-card details. We aim to acknowledge support and refund requests within two business days.

退款政策

没有隐藏结账，也不采用“一概不退款”。

当前公开测试版免费，尚未启用任何付费结账。本节说明 Founding Pro 获批销售后计划采用的政策。

未来订单由谁处理

结账页面和订单确认将标明销售许可、收取税款并处理付款的记录商户。其结账条款与退款流程将与本政策及你的法定权利共同适用。

改变主意

对于符合条件的数字产品，你可以在合同成立后 14 天内申请取消。如果你要求在此期间开始软件下载或许可交付，结账页面可能要求你明确同意并确认：数字交付开始后，取消权将会丧失。我们不会以此排除依法不可放弃的权利。

软件有故障或与描述不符

如果付费软件存在故障、与描述不符或未以合理谨慎方式提供，你的法定救济权利不受影响。在法律允许且方案合理时，我们可能先提供故障排查、更新、修复或替换。符合条件的退款将通过原付款方式尽快退回。

请发送邮件至 medialatch@gmail.com，提供订单号、购买邮箱、macOS 版本和简要说明。请勿发送银行卡信息。我们争取在两个工作日内确认收到支持与退款请求。
